Tømmerhytta has one of the highest locations in the area and is completely by itself with a good view straight into the Jotunheimen National Park. In the summer, it is no more than about 30 - 45 minutes to the cabin from the car if you take the shortest route. Some people find the walk difficult as the start is relatively steep. However, the reward is great when you do get there.

The cabin is relatively easy to access, but is completely on its own with a fantastic view. Here you become part of the mountain without a single neighbour. If you want to explore the area, there are fantastic hiking opportunities just outside the door. If you're lucky, you can experience reindeer up close and maybe you'll see an eagle soaring in the sky.

There is a fishing lake right next to the cabin where you can fish during your stay. There is also a small rowing boat available that you can dispose of if you wish. In winter, you can lie on the ice and fish for trout.

The cabin is equipped with the necessary kitchen utensils. The cabin has no running water or electricity. Cooking and heating takes place with a gas/wood stove.

Next to the cabin there is a combined tool shed and outhouse. Here you will also find life jackets for the boat, as well as firewood so you can light the fireplace after a day out in the mountains.

The cabin is located in the high mountains. It is therefore important to bring clothes for all kinds of weather.

Access

Summer: Parks along Lake Tyin. Then about 30 - 45 minutes' walk before you are at the cabin. You will receive a more detailed description upon attendance.

Winter: Parking at the end of Lake Tyin. Ski about 3 km along Tyin, then you leave Tyin and go about 1 km east. The entire ski trip takes about 2 hours, depending on luggage, weather and road conditions. It is also possible to order scooter transport at an additional cost.

3 beds in bunk beds, in addition to 2 beds on the sofa bed.
